ABOUT

THE MOUNTAIN BUSTLE

SEW. HIKE. CLIMB. REPEAT

Hello and welcome to The Mountain Bustle. My name is Elizabeth and I am an elementary teacher in Calgary, Alberta. I am also a professionally trained seamstress specializing in costume design and construction. When I am not teaching or sewing, I am a writer, hiker, rock and ice climber.

After working summer jobs in outdoor retail shops, I saw a need for educating others about appropriate clothing for the outdoors - while entirely understanding my opinion is merely my own, I thought my experiences may help others. The Mountain Bustle blog aims to provide knowledge on fabrics, fit, and care of outdoor clothing - and perhaps a little bit of history too.

This place might be like snail mail and a work in progress - I am starting down a blogging and social media journey that is entirely uncharted territory. However, if you'd like to tag along for some rambling from a busy teacher's perspective on fabric types and seam placements (and whatever else I come up with), then I welcome you along the journey.

You can find me on Instagram, or Facebook, where I share my personal costuming photos. You can also find my professional costuming portfolio here.

Until then; safe journeys on the mountain paths, and may your seams be straight and patterns drafted true,

Mountain Bustle
